I have not entered in awhile but I am trying my hand at this weeks challenge. I really want to try to do it every week but it seems like I remember on Wednesday which is the day after closing. This weeks entry is my friends daughter. She is amazingly beautiful and her smile and eyes just shine. I took this at the pumpkin patch recently.

Band Photography

I have begun branching out into band photography. I am testing the water in all sorts of photography genres. Its something different and fun to do especially since the studio is currently out of commission. With the remodel going on I have not been able to book anyone in the studio so I have to carry my work somewhere else for the time being. I had a super fun time on this shoot. In fact it was my first night time shoot.


I had a blast. I cannot wait to photograph another band. In the mean time I am slowly getting those templates together for selling on my site. Let you know when its up and running!

New site and CHRISTMAS PORTRAITS!

I have decided to delete my current webpage that you currently access (cahillcreations.com)... I think for the time being I will use my blog as my primary source for updates, information as well as galleries. I think this will be far easier to manage as well as a more personal approach from me. I hope to devote a lot more time in the next coming weeks to updating this routinely.

In the meantime I would like to let everyone know that I am currently booking for Christmas portraits. It seems like this year has blown by so quickly! And wow October is almost gone!

Proofing

After days of searching for a new proofing gallery I think I have found one that I will be using. A fellow photographer recommended Zenfolio so I am taking it for a trial run. I have high hopes this will work out in place of the proofing site my current website offers. This gives the customer larger images to see versus the smaller ones my current site has. I am so excited for all these changes!

Also must I mention a fabulous new site for professional photographers. It is for templates (baby, Christmas etc) and they are customized to be printed with WHCC! Which is fantastic since that is who I print through! If you are a professional photographer you must take a look - best part they are reasonably priced. I went shopping today looking for templates at WHCC and they were $25 a pop! Outrageous and they were not even to my taste. But these are fantastic and simple. Unfortunatly they are only available to professional photographers but there are many other great sites with templates for your personal use. Check them out here

A weekend of Pictures!

I had the pleasure of visiting a friend's farm and taking some pictures of her little cowboy. It was a fun shoot!




Driving to their house I passed this amazing field of sunflowers, it was an endless field sunflowers as far as the eye could see. It was beautiful. I went back the next day and did a few shots of my daughter.

She always has that cheesy smile, its so hard to get anything natural. I took so many pictures but never really got a good smile. She either scrunches her face to much or she looks miserable, kinda like this picture here

July Specials

Just to let everyone know that I am booking appointments for the month of July. As part of a Celebrate America theme I will having mini-sittings for $25 (30 minute sitting) and free 5x7!

It must carry a patriotic theme as well! Not all the images but at least one pose please, just to salute America!

Newborn from this morning

Meet little M. I had the pleasure of taking his portraits this morning and oh what a ham! I had so much fun! Well at first he was cranky and hungry, then didn't want to sleep so I thought I was in another pickle trying to get good baby shots but the baby wanted to cry! So with patience I waited and oh boy was it worth it! I got some pretty awesome shots! I am so excited I cannot wait to post them!

Party of Babies

Isn't this so darn cute! This little one is only a week or so old. My elf hat was to big but some tucking behind her head it worked!
I went to my girlfriend's sons birthday party over the weekend, I got suckered into taking some pictures at the last minute, doesn't bother me none cause everyone knows I am a sucker for little ones! My weekend challenge though. Get 4 children in a picture BUT 3 of the kiddos were all 3 months and younger! Yikes!

How do you pose a bunch of babies that cannot sit up yet! I should practice this one! Plus the birthday boy was to excited to sit down and pose for pictures but I was able to get this shot! It is the only one of him half looking and none of the babies crying!

I ♥ faces week 20 - Silhouettes

Here is the picture that I chose for this week's contest. Since we are just getting over the Memorial Day weekend I thought what better way than to submit a picture of my son. In fact I took this on Sunday. Here is to you America! Thank You to all the brave men and women who have fought and our still fighting for us!

My favorite Local Band

This past weekend I got to do a super fun photo shoot. It was of my favorite band Big Luscious T! They are new to the area, a group of wonderfully talented guys. I have been backing this band from the start! They play at our bar once a month. I take their pictures frequently when the are playing but Saturday we got to do an "official" shoot. They needed some images for their portfolio. I had a blast! Sometimes it was quite frustrating because they were like little kids, moving, and not listening so I geve up trying to direct them and let them do their own stuff. I really wanted to do their pictures around sunset but one member had to get back to Baltimore so I had no choice but to fight the direct sun at 2pm. I took them to a location that I use to hang out when I was younger. It was a swimming hole in the back of a park - but directly beside it is a train bridge with brightly colored graffiti. I got a couple shots on the train tracks but it was so bright and the sun was so direct that it was really hard to balance it all out. We are planning to do more pictures, probably at a industrial park or something like that (for their individual shoots) ... But in the mean time I will share one of my favorite shots. I have a ton of favorites but this one I love the colors!

I ♥ faces

A wonderfully talented photographer friend blogs every week about how much fun she has with this site so I am going to give it a try. I could not decide which photo to use because I simply had to many favorites, and not just of my children but of my clients children as well! But I decided to go with this picture of Abie. She looks so genuine and sweet, her eyes just shine. I actually just took this picture yesterday.
I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb Book photo contest. I am granting I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites."

Very first OpLove session today

I had my very first Oplove session today! I met a wonderful mom and 4 month old baby named Riley. Dad is currently deployed in Kuwait. They photographed beautifully and I of course could not stop taking pictures. It was cloudy but a good day to shoot. It was a little cold here and there but the baby didn't seem to mind to much. I have more pictures that I will post soon!
